Outdated Blog!!
Hey friends of Bella Tesora Events!
Our blog is seriously outdated, and for that, we apologize. We've been busy in the last several months ... Sarah got married, Julie's having a baby and so there is a huge backlog of blog posts to be added to this blog. Watch for updates over the next couple of weeks!

A few pics from Maureen and Adam - 8.16.08
Look how gorgeous they are!!!!
I always love to see the small touches a bride does to make her day special ... in this case, small photos attached to her bouquet ... lovely!
And finally the CUPCAKE TREE!! Kristine and I added the cupcakes just before Maureen and Adam made their grand entrance, and I think it turned out beautifully ...
Thank you again for letting me share your day with you! It was a pleasure!

Kristi and Rob - 8.30.08
Another stunning thing to look at in the room was the head table ... set for 33 people! Kristi and Rob have large families and a lot of close friends ... it was awesome to see. I got to hang out with the guys before their ceremony when they were all joking around on the lawn of the church. They were just having so much fun!
The display of candles and rose petals right outside the ballroom was beautiful and helped to tie in the pink in the color scheme. The camera just doesn't do it justice ... I loved how it looked.
All in all, this wedding was beautiful and tons of fun! Kristi and Rob looked SO incredibly happy and I wish them the best of everything! It was a pleasure working with the two of you!

Debra and Brian - 8.24.08
Today I had a great time driving from Utica to Southfield to Oak Park to Ferndale to White Lake .... and only got lost once! Typically, I rely on Mapquest to get me where I'm going when I'm traveling to a location I've never been, and today was no different! Except for one small thing - Mapquest directions didn't take me where I needed to be - in fact, I was pretty much the furthest I could be from the right place for a little while. Luckily I have a brain that allows me to be something of a human GPS (and I can read street signs), so I made it first to Bake Station in Southfield to pick up Debra and Brian's traditional Challah which was absolutely lovely and smelled delicious (who doesn't love the smell of fresh baked bread). From there I drove to Unique Kosher Carry Out in Oak Park where Debra and Brian had ordered kosher meals for 9 of their guests - which I thought was very nice of them to do! My final stop before heading out to set up their reception was Debra and Brian's house in Ferndale. They had everything organized in the living room so all I had to do was load up my car and then I was on my way.
After scrapping the Mapquest directions once again when they wanted me to turn the opposite of the sign pointing to Indian Springs Metropark, where Debra and Brian's reception was taking place, I made it to the venue. The room was beautiful with vaulted wood ceilings and a floor to ceiling window along two sides. The ladies from Crank's Catering were there setting up when I arrived and were kind enough to loan me their cart so I could unload everything from my car. Set up didn't take too long (I just had to place the food in the fridge, and the centerpieces on the tables).
Guests began arriving and I directed them to the seating chart, where they could find their tables. There were a few moments when guests of the Discovery Center were trying to go into the wedding room, but I was able to direct them downstairs where they needed to be.
All in all, I was pleased with how the afternoon shaped up. I am certain that Debra and Brian celebrated with a beautiful reception complete with the music of their two bands and tons of family and friends surrounding them!
I wish you all the best Debra and Brian!

Maureen and Adam - 8.16.08
Maureen and Adam were fortunate to have an absolutely perfect weather day for their outdoor, at-home wedding! I was keeping my fingers crossed for them because when I first met Maureen on the Wednesday prior to the wedding at their ceremony/reception site it was pouring rain and rather cold. But just like I was hoping, I woke up on their wedding day to bright sunshine and gorgeous temperatures!
When guests arrived at Maureen's family home in Casco, MI they were greeted by friendly valets (friends of the family) who parked their cars and directed them towards the tent area set up behind the house. The table above shows the beautiful favor boxes that also acted as placecards. Kristine and I helped guests find their seats and made sure that everyone found their place before the ceremony started.
As you can see, the guest tables were covered with beautiful bright blue and green linens, a color combination that was just amazing and complimented the green grass and blue skys perfectly. We had a hard time keeping the candles lit in the beginning, but once it started to get darker, the wind died down a bit and we were able to re-light them so they would last throughout the entire reception!
The ceremony started right on time and you could just tell how happy Maureen and Adam were to finally be married...their smiles were contageous :)
Maureen's dad wanted me to give a little welcome speech after the ceremony, but people didn't really want to listen too much until he himself came out to the dancefloor and stood next to me ... it was so endearing when he got all teary-eyed just watching his daughter standing on the other side of the tent ... but everyone listened and the night got off to a great start.
We helped organize the formal pictures after the ceremony while also making sure the appetizers were being served during the cocktail hour following the ceremony. During dinner we assisted with clearing tables and making sure that everyone was able to get enough food! When we left a little after 9pm, everything looked awesome and people were happy ... the food was delicious, the bar was plentiful and the staff I was working with was prompt and courteous. All together it was a great night!
Congratulations Maureen and Adam! I look forward to seeing your pictures once you have them!

Congratulations Ashley and Ryan (8.2.08)!

Ashley and Ryan had an absolutely amazing day for their wedding on August 2, 2008. The sun was shining and it wasn't too hot or too cold. My assistant and I arrived at their ceremony and reception venue, The Concorde Inn in Clinton Twp, right around 3pm that day and I had one of my rare moments of disappointment when I realized that I left my trusty digital camera at home. But this is where the story of Ashley and Ryan's wedding day gets really good, from a coordinator's standpoint! The staff at the Concorde Inn are so accommodating and were 100% helpful with everything - even when one of the hall staff offered to go across the street to CVS and buy me a disposable camera since they were all out at the front desk. I kept thinking ... wow! Everyone there is organized and polite; there wasn't even one little problem with the staff there at all.
Ashley and Ryan made certain to pay attention to even the smallest details to make everything coordinate for their wedding, and there were so many lovely personal touches involved. I learned that it was Ryan who made the programs, placecards and assorted signs for different areas of the reception and I was very impressed. He did a beautiful job - and definitely wasn't afraid of the pink! I loved that they had a basket of flip flops for everyone's tired feet ... it was a great touch. In fact, almost at the end of the night I went and grabbed a pair for Brandy of JS Photography because she'd been running around taking all kinds of pictures all night long and her feet needed a break!
Brandy Roels is a sweet and wonderful photographer and it was a pleasure working with her. She was nice enough to send me all of the digital images you see here, and I can't thank her enough. Disposable cameras, while convenient, do not do justice at all to the beauty of events like this one. I look forward to working with her again in the future! I know that Ashley and Ryan are going to be beyond thrilled when they see their pictures :)
Another aspect of the room that I thought was just spectacular was the pink uplighting that you see surrounding the entire ballroom. The lighting as well as music for both the ceremony and reception was provided by George of Elite Entertainment. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience working with the staff of Elite Entertainment and I look forward to every event with them because they really are fantastic. The lighting really transformed the room from a standard ballroom into something almost fairytale-esque.
And right here you can see what I call the pièce de résistance for this event (okay, so I had to put some French in there for good measure) ... the most elaborate candy buffet I have ever seen! It was like entering a candy store. I think my eyes turned into round saucers as I looked in amazement at all the work that Ashley and Ryan's grandparents put into this endeavor. There was just about every kind of candy you can imagine, including whole, full size fun-dip, nerds ropes and hershy bars spread out around all the jars on the tables. It was, as it always is, a huge hit with the guests. We roped it off until after dinner, which was smart because people may not have eaten if they got at the candy first!
All in all, Ashley and Ryan had a perfect wedding day. It was a pleasure working with them and I wish them all the best in their new life as husband and wife!
